An agent partner had swung the buyer from a co-broke deal of another brand new semi-detached house with a closing price tag of $7.28m. “We had an open mind on the type of semi-detached house we were hoping to purchase, and were familiar with a few developers and their offerings.
For us, we had specific asks in the form of superior workmanship, materials, fittings. These involve details such as the flooring and windows of the interior layout and the exterior façade. The other details of a lift, a dry and wet kitchen, well thought through bedroom sizes and functionality of enough living space to call a house our home, were also not to be compromised.
We were not keen on a cookie-cutter development unless there was a unique selling point by the developer, and we were not keen to buy a plot to build up from scratch on our own.
